Adele is one of the biggest selling artists in the world right now It has been reported that the singer has turned down the Oscars because it clashes with the start of her tour

The paper reports Adele's people are keen to revisit the idea, but she was not willing to risk any potential travel delays. Adele, who waited for years before releasing the sequel to her record breaking album 21, looks set to put her all into her tour for her chart-topping album 25.

Oscars organizers even offered her special private transport to take her to her to Belfast, where she will begin her tour, but nothing could persuade her.

The 2016 Oscar Awards have sparked the biggest controversy in the history of the Academy.

It has seen the likes of Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, publicly declare that they will not be attending the award ceremony after black actors and actresses were excluded in the four major categories, for two years in a row.
